There are many special features present in e-Instant games to provide a variety of ways to win and to offer something different to players. To find out what special features exist in each game, the opening page of the game, also called a splash page, often provides an overview of special features. Also, you can learn about the specific features a game has by reading the HOW TO PLAY section by clicking the “?” within the game or by opening the Game Rules.  Below are examples of the most common special features available in e-Instant games.  It varies by game how many special features are present. Note that not all special features are listed below.

  • Big Symbols

In games with this feature, a symbol 2-9 times the size of a regular symbol, also called a BIG version of a regular symbol, may fall anywhere on the game board. BIG symbols usually count as 2 to 9 identical symbols of their type and can form winning clusters with other symbols of its type.

Examples: Big Crush Volcano and Thor’s Thunderbolt

  • Expanding Play Area

An Expanding e-Instant allows the play area to expand by at least one row or column, providing you more chances to form winning combinations. Unlocking expanding games may require finding specific symbols like FREE GAMES or a WILD symbol, to match three special symbols, or reveal a single specific symbol to expand the board.

  • Expanding WILD

An Expanding WILD symbol can form matches with any two or more matching regular symbol and can form matches with multiple groups of symbols at once. An Expanding WILD always counts as 3 symbols. An expanding WILD symbol can be revealed as a regular sized symbol, a 2x1 expanded symbol or a 3x1 expanded symbol and will count as 1, 2, or 3 symbols respectively.
